Early in my career, I was taught this simple test. My mentors told me before I took an action, I should ask, how would I feel if what I did that day for my client, was announced on the front page of The Wall Street Journal. You can be confident the decisions I make for you, would make me proud if they showed up as a banner headline the next day.
My interest in the capital markets began early at the age of 10. My grandfather, an elevator mechanic at a building on Broad Street in NYC, worked in the financial district. While visiting him there, I felt the excitement of Wall Street, stock exchange, banks, investment firms, and landmark of international finance, the twin towers of the World Trade Center. I developed a life-long interest in the investment industry. My grandfather traveled to work each day by train from his home on Linden Avenue in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Our firm is named in his honor.
